In three years? I imagine I’ll still be living like I am now: reading, writing, editing, teaching, creating physical and digital art; but the way those things will be threaded into my life… Well, that’ll change.
The world is facing shifts.
Industrial revolution, mass extinction event, population crash: everywhere, all at once. Artificial intelligence, barring TSMC bottlenecking too hard, will be more integrated in society, including humanoid robots.
Wherever I’m no longer traditionally employed, I’ll be self-employing, because skills that can be applied in different contexts should adapt, rather than atrophy. That said, how can anyone guess the future, geopolitically, economically, infrastructurally, pandemically, technologically, ideologically, when the variables are so tangled?
Civilization is balancing spinning plates on both hands.
One sneeze, and everything else shudders, which echoes into our personal lives.
So…
Resilience, creative thinking, and open-mindedness: that’s what I’ll still be like.
That’s the landing pad for everything else.
