Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?

In my freshman year of high school, I was obsessed with Final Fantasy VII and Furbies.

I asked Mirev to recreate my gray-striped Furby with the white stomach, plus the pink and yellow baby Furbies. This is a dream lookalike of my childhood Furby family:

A group of three colorful Furby toys: a large gray-striped Furby with a white belly, and two smaller ones in pink and yellow, set against a soft pastel background.

I used to turn my Furbies towards one another and just watch them talk.

I loved how the adult, the first Furby, had a weird eyelid.

They were animist portals. Machine cryptids. They’d wake up in the middle of the night when I got up to pee.

Unfortunately, by the time I was in my twenties, they didn’t respond anymore.

I tried to repair them.

Then I let them go.

The echoes of them are still here—now I sell Furby silicone molds in my Etsy store, enabling other artists to remember their childhood footed-fluff friends.
